Tom Gilbert prepares forthcoming Amanti LP bridging the gap between acoustic and electronica

Tom Gilbert is a man of many talents. With a number of musical accomplishments under his belt, on his own and with a group, Tom is steadily making a name for himself on the Scottish music scene.

You may be more acquainted with Tom’s work via his alias Amanti, or that of his successful band Lenin Death Mask (LDM). Tom kicked off his musical career back in 2007 with his main outlet of sound consisting of his voice and his acoustic accompaniments. Incorporating electronic elements, this innovative producer was able to perform his stunning live shows individually.

Following the release of Tom’s Amanti solo albums, he pursued his passion for performing alongside others in Lenin Death Mask. He played a big part in LDM, performing as a singer, songwriter, bassist, and lead guitarist. After some time on the road, the band had secured a vinyl release and a number of successful tours.

Tom Gilbert’s Amanti project bridges the gap between acoustic and electric elements beautifully. Amanti’s sound, which echoes the exceptional and experimental artistry of say, Bibio or Brian Eno, Tom was already ahead of his time prior to Amanti’s hiatus.

Lenin Death Mask differs from Amanti’s relaxing and emotive experience and delivers something that’s hard-hitting, raw, and upbeat all at the same time. Considering how well Tom takes to a plethora of genres only heightens the strength of this man’s talent.

Looking to the future, Tom Gilbert is drawing his focus back to more personal work. In addition to currently recording and producing his latest forthcoming record, Tom has also recently started his own record label, Milenci Records, to self-release his own hypnotising tracks and hopefully others by affiliated and equally talented artists.
