Last week we were lucky enough to catch up with the J-pop sensation, Cream with a K. She treated us with stories of growing up in Japan, modelling and beginning her musical journey.
Cream with a K’s woozy rendition of The Pixies ‘Where Is My Mind’ is a rough and ready, up close and personal peek into her genius artistry.
As if directed by Enter The Void’s Gaspar Noé himself, Cream with a K’s ‘Where Is My Mind’ is likely to make you lose yours. Raw and haunting close up shots display a giddy Cream with a K immersed in the music, surrendering to its powerful distorted whirr.
The lustrous sedated lights wash over her as she arcs and warps to the music, illuminating her in a silky neon glow. Cream with a K’s 90’s rock and grunge influences spill through, heightening the coarse backing track perfectly, opposing her satiny mellow vocal tones making for an unforgettable experience.
Cream with a K has certainly outdone herself with this contemporary cover. If you liked this then you can find out more about the diverse and electrifying Cream with a K by checking out our interview with her here.
