Joey Collins Releases New Stellar Album ‘Yin-Yang’

Joey Collins has been steadily gaining momentum since his first release in 2017. In this time he’s been carefully developing and honing his craft, which has greatly paid off with the release his debut album ‘Yin-Yang’. The UK based singer-songwriter has earnestly selected 14 songs for us to indulge upon. In the aptly named LP, he explores the duality of life through song.

Recent single Time Becomes Our Only Saviour has a sultry electric guitar part supporting the strong lead melody line. With notes of early James Bay and more recent Mumford & Sons towards the beginning, things then take a turn in the chorus when the song turns into an epic sounding pop-rock track, more like Nirvana, or even Linkin Park. This track is emblematic of the album as a whole where Joey gives us a look into the dexterous nature of his influences.

Strong backing vocals and lead guitar lines carry throughout, as his songwriting peaks in numbers such as The Abyss or album closer Music is the Great Communicator.

On the single, he says:

“leaving the most heartache I’ve ever experienced… The song is written on the premise that ‘time heals wounds’ and it’s some last words to the person the song is about.”

It’s exciting to think where this album could take Joey. The new Deluxe version boasts a further 10 tracks, which is quite impressive! Be sure to support Joey’s new album by listening below.
