MIKANO releases visuals for infectious single “Tell a Lie”

MIKANO spent his youth traveling about, and he was lucky enough to see the four corners of the world. At the age of 17, he settled down in Paris where he began writing and creating music. His unique sound is colourful melting pot of his biggest inspirations, these include Frank Ocean, Blood Orange and Kid Cudi. However, even with his music paying homage to those greats, it has his own signature stamp on it.

His latest track showcases this sound perfectly -“Tell a Lie” is an infectious single. Hard-hitting drums smash through the mix whilst heartwarming synths ebb and flow in between. On top, his vocal lines are a mixture of silky smooth vocals and hard-hitting bars.

The music video for ‘Tell a Lie’ follows the release of MIKANO’s new EP – AKWA II. It’s raw and explosive record. It’s a beautiful and touching melting pot of disorganised emotions. The EP is more intimate and deeper than MIKANO’s previous work, taking the listener from one extreme to another – from a song tinged with sweetness, vulnerability, and fantasy to something inflated with roughness and overly confident energy, portraying the complexity of our personal growth and our relationships. AKWA is named after one of Douala’s districts in Cameroon, Akwa, where MIKANO spent his early years.
