Nascent Smile is an unsigned singer/songwriter from Nottinghamshire, with hints of City & Colour, Bright Eyes and Frank Turner, for starters. The influences go much further, spanning a range of genres, shaping the music and mood in a unique way. The result is a mix of anthemic rock tunes, bare bones classic folk; sometimes intense and emotive, occasionally light and humorous, but always heart-on-the-sleeve.
The inspiration comes mostly from personal experiences; an autobiographical take on the world and its trials; stories of unrequited love, heartbreaks, hope for the future and the struggle to get somewhere in life. The honesty of the songwriting aims to connect with the audience on a deep level, through sincere and relatable songs, doused in empathy.
