Released on 26th July, the new track from Junior Turner “Natural and Nice” is natural and nice indeed!
Natural in a way of a traditional approach to music, using many influences from the past, to create a sound for the future. Nice, because Junior’s music doesn’t offend the listener’s ears, and rather pours into the ears like milk and honey. Junior Turner is already an artist who has a strong experience in the music industry. In 2010 he entered a competition to release a single for “BBC Children in Need”. In October 2010 he released a cover version of the world famous “The Impossible Dream”. In April 2011 – “Say Goodbye”, in support of Help for Heroes. In 2012 he recorded his first ever official 1radio UK newcomers chart number 1 single with “Loveblind” featuring Jessica Wood. His song “Sweet Love” was a Christmas 2012′ number 1 with “Hurt” featuring Robbie Williams guitarist Neil Taylor’. In November 2012 his debut album “Under Scrutiny” hit the market.
Junior’s music is very cheerful and sunny, it’s a mixture of traditional Motown sound with a modern upbeat funk element added into it. I can imagine this song written and recorded by Olly Murs or Robbie Williams – it only gives the glimpse of how mature and first class this music really is. Junior is best described as an artist who thinks “out of the box”, wandering smoothly between pop, funk, motown, and also R’n’B. He brings a fresh and new coolness to the table.
There are many artists nowadays who would sell their voice and sound for the devil, only to get more fame and money. Junior doesn’t have to do it, he is just the way he is, a real guy with real music. And you can really feel this attitude in his song “Natural and Nice”.
