George Michael’s “breathtaking” Freedom documentary praised by fans online

George Michael fans have praised the late singer’s new documentary, George Michael: Freedom, sharing their emotional responses online.

Freedom premiered on Channel 4 last night and was welcomed by an outpouring of love and gratitude from viewers. The documentary was co-directed by Michael and his manager, David Austin, and served as the legendary singer’s final ever work. Freedom focussed on telling his story featuring the ’90s period which saw the release of his Listen Without Prejudice album, taking Sony Music to court, and the lost his lover, Anselmo Feleppa, to AIDS.

The film included contributions from Mark Ronson, Mary J Blige, Liam Gallagher, Nile Rodgers, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, James Corden, Ricky Gervais, and more.

Back in September, George Michael’s first posthumous track ‘Fantasy‘ was released featuring Chic‘s Nile Rodgers. The track is set to appear on the reissue of ‘Listen without Prejudice/MTV Unplugged‘ which will arrive 20th October.
